Welcome to the Underdogs!Flyball is a relay race for two teams in which the dogs speed down a lane of hurdles, trigger the release of a tennis ball from a flyball box and dash back over the hurdles with the ball to their handlers. The winner is the team which gets the four dogs there and back the fastest. It's a fun sport which dogs love. It's suitable for all sizes and types of dogs (and their owners!) because the height of the hurdles is adjusted according to the height of the smallest dog on the team. As you can see on this website, our team includes Labradors, Border Collies, crossbreds and a tiny but fiercely competitive Jack Russell. All you need is an energetic dog who likes fetching balls. The dog must also be socialized as they have to get on well with other team members. The Underdogs team is based in Underriver between Sevenoaks and Tonbridge in Kent. We train in a field there on Sunday mornings. We are happy to meet anyone interested in giving flyball a try. We welcome enquiries from people who just want to train, but we are specially glad to hear from anyone who would like the chance of competing on our teams at shows. |
