Box Loader

Box Loader Information

If you are asked to Box Load for the Underdogs, here is important information you will need.

The most important thing to know is which hole to put the ball in! This is important since most dogs show a right or left hand turn preference for turning - just as humans are right or left handed.

The side that the ball is loaded is usually expressed as 'right' or 'left' - but from the box-loader's point of view - not from the vew point of the dog handler.

While we are training new team members or to help new box-loaders, at the Underdogs we encourage handlers to indicate to the box-loader which side the ball should be loaded by putting out an arm on that side. So, as a boxloader, if you look down the lane and see that the handler facing you has an arm oustretched like this:
 Arm Outstretched
you will load the ball in the right hand hole (from your perspective) as you lean over the box.

Here are the Underdogs Flyball Team dogs and their loading details.
